Entrepreneurs and Businesses

Covington is a young, healthy community that believes in growing its own. To that end, the city is collaborating with the Chamber of Commerce to offer training workshops. Offered jointly with the Washington Business Center at Community Capital Development, the first 2009 workshop was titled, "Work for Yourself," and provided tools and valuable information to prospective business owners.

To assist existing Covington business owners, the city hosts networking breakfasts throughout the year. These events provide access to resources for Covington's existing business community along with networking opportunities. The city is collaborating with the Small Business Assistance Center (SBAC) to develop programs to assist existing businesses, and is developing relationships with The Institute of Entrepreneurs (TIE).
